Tea tree oil, derived from the leaves of Melaleuca Alternifolia native to northeast New South Wales, Australia, has been used since ancient times for its medicinal properties. The Australian aborigines used crushed leaves to heal cuts, burns, sores, and infections, and inhaled the oils for coughs and colds. They also used it in tea for sore throats.

Tea tree oil, known for its antiseptic and antifungal properties due to terpenoids, is used in various personal care products and medicines. It helps relieve congestion, colds, coughs, and flu, and treats acne, fungal infections, dandruff, vaginal infections, hemorrhoids, and athlete's foot.
